Aleta Planet, a fast-growing Singapore-based fintech, has partnered payment service provider AXS, to enable UnionPay cardholders to make a wide range of payments via the AXS m-Station mobile app.

Aleta Planet is providing the application programming interface (API) technology to power the use of all UnionPay cards to make e-payments through AXS. UnionPay acceptance will not be available at physical AXS stations and the online AXS e-Station.

AXS users can use their UnionPay debit and credit cards to pay their bills or fines, top-up pre-paid cards, and use government e-services wherever they are. Aleta Planet is the first fintech and certified principal member of UnionPay to partner AXS.

Aleta Planet said that its AP-1 virtual card can also be used to pay bills on AXS. Launched last December, AP-1 enables Singaporeans and foreigners to make cashless payments in China for big and small transactions. This will benefit business and leisure travellers going to mainland China as restrictions on cross-border travel ease further in the coming months.

China-centric Aleta Planet has been looking to expand its suite of services for UnionPay cardholders, providing more digital payment options, benefits and rewards. The move comes as demand for UnionPay cards continues to grow among Singaporean consumers.

Aleta Planet’s Chairman and Group CEO Ryan Gwee said: “We are excited that AXS has chosen our secure, proprietary technology platform to enable mobile payments for UnionPay cardholders.

“This partnership with AXS will make it easier and more convenient for consumers to pay for all kinds of things including their utilities, phone bills, loans, insurance and other services.”

“We are pleased to partner with Aleta Planet for the acceptance of UnionPay to expand our payment choices on AXS m-Station mobile app. This underscores AXS’ commitment in making bill payments easier and more convenient for our users,” said Mr. Chin Mun Chung, Assistant CEO of AXS.
